Last week Jo and I went on your Lanes & Arcades tour and the Sommelier's Tour. They both offered completely different experiences. We had a great time discovering the many wonderful shops and cafes hidden away in the lanes and arcades of Melbourne. Zoe was a fabulous guide, giving us ample time to look around as well as pointing out some of the architecture and giving us a potted history of the area. After the tour we revisited a number of the shops and did our bit for the Melbourne economy, we also ran into other people from the tour doing the same thing!! The Sommeliers Tour took us to 3 fantastic restaurants where we experienced a total 9 different taste sensations and 9 interesting wines. Amelia was a mine of information and a wonderful host. During the next couple of days we went back to some of the restaurants that she recommended. Thank you for making our stay in Melbourne such a great experience, your tours added another dimension to our holiday. Both my friend Glenda & I have been going to Melbourne for years and we would have never known that these “Hidden Treasures” existed. It was fascinating to walk up & down the lanes & arcades and to see a completely different side of Melbourne it was very interesting & informative to hear about the architecture of the buildings, and to see the things would never have seen, like the Gallery in the subway under Flinders St Station and the Barber who is an opera singer. We would recommend anyone who visits Melbourne that this is MUST on your things to do in Melbourne list. It was great that at morning tea & lunch Laura marked our map showing us where we had been and highlighted places that we wanted to go back to. The next day we did just that and it was just as much fun going back to places for the second time. The morning tea & lunch was very nice and this gave you the opportunity to chat to the other people on the tour. We took the hidden Secret's Tour last evening: The Sommelier's City Walk. Just reporting back that we had an excellent time. We have lived in Melbourne all our lives yet we have been occupied with having 3 babies and raising them for the last 10 years and as such we have not been terribly familiar with Melbourne's CBD or many of it's eateries for some time. For us it was a great way for us to catch up with a little bit of Melbourne in the early evening and get to try out a number of places that are new to us.

Good Morning Laura, Just a quick email to say THANKYOU SO MUCH for the wonderful day we all had yesterday with you on our tour. We enjoyed your knowledge of the beautiful buildingsalong the tour. We do take alot for granted, dont we? My 3 daughters had an exciting time searchingfor individual bargains. One was so pumped she found a Bob Dylan tshirt when we returned to Retrostar after lunch. Lunch was beautiful;Vincent was a treat! What a character!! We willcertainly return there for abite again.My sister loved the boutiques and my mother found the vintage clothes very interesting. She bought herself a dress at the Lost and Found Market on the way home. Morning coffee was memorable, the best soy decaf cappucino I have had, and the chocolate truffle exquisite. I went on your Lanes and Arcades Tour on Thursday morning and I wanted to tell you it was fabulous really enjoyed it!! I was most impressed with the young guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the area and was more than happy to share her information. I am more interested in the historical significance and architectural designs of various city buildings than the actual shops and Laura was fabulous in that area. She also had very interesting stories about some of the characters and personalities throughout the city. Hi Fiona, We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the private tour on Weds. Not only did we have fun but came away with a much greater appreciation of your lovely city. It was as though a another world exsisted between the main grid of the streets. We went back to many of the shops that afternoon and again the following more to make some purchases and to see what else we could find. Managed to make it back for more coffee at that choccie cafe too!!!! Tourism inSydney could certainly learn a thing or two from Melb! I managed to find a dress for my 50th next month from the boutique on the corner of the block arcade (which had some fabulous designs.) I also managed to get some black boots like yours because the sizing was way out, so like cinderella, I squeezed into a size 6 & 1/2. Re: Lanes and Arcades Tour...Our tour guide was lovely, and very imformative.. We were not expecting how little time we actually spent in each store - would have liked more. Understanding that you have to cater to all sorts of tastes within easy walking distance, would note that this tour included the "arty" side of Melbourne rather than just the retail side. When we started I admit I was frustrated with so little time in each shop, but see the sense in your plan, I would have spent all my money in the first 2 places.. with none left for the wonders that came later. Fiona   Just thought I would send an email expressing our appreciation of the walking tour we did on Friday. We found out about your walks in a article in The Sun Herald in Sydney, and not having been to Melbourne in over 30 years, thought this would be a good way to get to know the city.   We had a great time, and our guide Alex was the main reason for this. We found her very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, etc, etc, etc. She looked after everyone fantastically.   We will be recommending your tours to any of our friends that tell us they are going to Melbourne. I’m very happy to give the Hidden Secrets Tour a very enthusiastic endorsement. It was just brilliant, well organized and very pleasantly guided with no fuss or stress. Loved the shops, an eclectic mix of young fashion shoes and jewellery designers right through to the very up market high end shops. As we toured we were supplied with a lovely bag with a map in it for future reference. Also enjoyed a hot Belgian Choc, at the half way point and a relaxing restaurant lunch at the culmination of the tour.
